Clover Appliques for St. Patrick's Day

These clovers are great if you haven't got your one green item for St. Patrick's Day.

Ideas on how to use these appliques...
*These would be great to apply to any project.
*You can add them to kitchen towels,
*turn them into a keychain or fridge magnet.
*You can also make several and make a garland.
*Attach a ribbon to make them into bookmarks.

SIZE/MEASUREMENTS
approx. 1.5”length from its widest point x 2"height
...but they can vary based on yarn and hook size.

MATERIALS
*Crochet hook size: 3.5mm (E)
*Worsted Weight Yarn: Green (4yds)
*Stitch Markers to mark your rounds
*Tapestry Needle

PATTERN NOTES - must read...
 Numbers in ( ) at the end of each round/row indicate the total number of stitches.
 Always use stitch markers to mark your rounds.
 There's no need to sl st and/or ch when going to the next round unless stated to do so.

SPECIAL STITCHES
 Treble Crochet (tr) - Y/O hook twice, insert hook into stitch & pull up a loop (4 loops remaining), Y/O hook & pull thru 2 loops (3 loops remaining), Y/O hook & pull thru 2 loops (2 loops remaining, Y/O hook & pull thru the 2 remaining loops.


3-LEAF CLOVER with green
  Rnd 1: sc, ch1, sc, ch1, sc, ch1, sc, sl st into 1st sc in magic ring (4sts+3 ch1 sp)
  Rnd 2: ch2+tr+hdc+tr+ch2+sl st into ch1 sp (creates the 1st petal), sl st in next sc, ch2+tr+hdc+tr+ch2+sl st into next ch1 sp (creates the 2nd petal), sl st in next sc, ch2+tr+hdc+tr+ch2+sl st into next ch1 sp (creates the 3rd petal), sl st in last sc, ch5, sl st in 2nd ch from hook and across, sl st again in last sc (creates the stem)
F/O, secure and weave in the ends.

4-LEAF CLOVER with green
  Rnd 1: sc, ch1, sc, ch1, sc, ch1, sc, ch1, sc, sl st into 1st sc in magic ring (5sts+4 ch1 sp)
  Rnd 2: ch2+tr+hdc+tr+ch2+sl st into ch1 sp (creates the 1st petal), sl st in next sc, ch2+tr+hdc+tr+ch2+ sl st into next ch1 sp (creates the 2nd petal), sl st in next sc, ch2+tr+hdc+tr+ch2+sl st into next ch1 sp (creates the 3rd petal), sl st in next sc, ch2+tr+hdc+tr+ch2+sl st into next ch1 sp (creates the 4th petal), sl st in last sc, ch5, sl st in 2nd ch from hook and across, sl st again in last sc (creates the stem)
F/O, secure and weave in the ends.

sl st: slip stitch || sp:space || rnd: round || f/o: finish off || y/o: yarn over
