SIZE/MEASUREMENTS
The bird measures approx. 2” inches across from head to tail but can vary based on yarn and hook size.
MATERIALS
*Crochet hook size 3.5mm & 2.5mm
*Worsted weight yarn: small amounts of any two colors you like and orange for the beak
*Tapestry Needle
PATTERN NOTES
Their's no need to slip stitch and/or chain when going to the next round unless stated to do so.
Numbers in ( ) at the end of each round or row indicate the total number of stitches for that round or row.
BIRD with 3.5mm hook
Rnd 1: 10sc in a magic ring (10) Pull as tightly as possible so no hole is showing.
Rnd 2: 2sc in the next sc, sc in next sc, hdc then dc in next sc, 2dc in next 2sc, 2sc in next sc, sc then dc in next sc, 2tr in next sc, 2dtr in the next 2sc
Rnd 3: 2dtr in first st, 1 triple tr and leave the rest unfinished.
F/O and weave in ends
BEAK with 3.5mm hook
Join orange yarn in the 7th stitch of the second row. sc in the same stitch.
F/O and weave in ends.
HEART WING with 2.5mm hook
Rnd 1: ch2, 2dc, 3sc, 1dc, 3sc, 2dc into the magic ring
Pull tightly to close. F/O and weave in ends.
ASSEMBLY
I recommend pinning the heart wing in place before sewing it to make sure you have it in the position you like best before sewing.
Embroidery the eye.
